Alleluia, alleluia,
Everybody’s singing now, alleluia
Listen to that sound, alleluia!

There were two of them like you and me
walking down that long lonely road of afterwards
Just two souls gutted by the loss
no heart left to believe the good news rumors
If we can’t let it be better,
how can we recognize better
When it’s a stranger walking by our side?
I say we taste that bread,
run all the way back to town,
and join that mighty chorus…

Everybody’s singing now, alleluia
Listen to that sound, alleluia
Everybody’s singing now, alleluia
When all the lost are found, alleluia!

The whole world’s different and yet it’s all the same
to me and you when we’re gliding past our fancy idols
We’ve got our own Areopagus poised to jump
on the next new thing
Forget the alter to an unknown god,
Will it ever be better,
and can we recognize better
When it’s a stranger walking by our side?
I say we taste that bread…

Everybody’s singing now…

[instrumental]

I say we taste that bread…

Everybody’s singing now…
